Technology is everywhere. Over the years, it continued to evolve and it even influenced the way we live. Studies have shown that our immediate surrounding has a great impact on the way and manner people learn. In this generation where students are very much exposed to technology, there is an urge to inculcate and use technology inside the classroom as a tool and as an aid in classroom instruction.

To meet this arising need, we are now taught in school on how to use and operate useful programs. One of those is the making of the screen casting video. At first, I was not able to see its significance and I just thought of it as a burden to our part. However, I was very wrong. I was able to appreciate its significance in the 21st century teaching.

A quiet location was needed in making such to avoid any disruption and any unnecessary noise. A script was prepared as well so that I would not miss any single point that I wanted to emphasize. On the process of making it, I experienced a lot of trial and error before I arrived to the final one. It was not very difficult to make if only all the resources needed are available.

There are advantages and disadvantages as well that one can get in making a screen casting video. One of the advantages that a teacher can get out of it is that he/she can present and explain the lesson during his/her absence or even without his/her physical presence. Also, the scarcity of videos found in the internet that relates to topic to be discussed can be solved using screen casting. It can be its alternative. Moreover, a screen casting video does not encourage an interactive discussion since the audience cannot raise their queries or questions about the video being shown to them. The learning that they can get depends only on what they see and hear from the video. Also, it cannot be played without electricity. This is one of the common lapses of technology.
