Reflection on Screen Casting Video

As part of the 21st century learners and a future teacher, it is essential to go digital. Learners’ lives nowadays are immersed in a digital society. Teachers, to be able to fit into the learners’ learning styles must use and integrate technology. Many educational technology tools can be used as an instruction. One of these is the screen casting video.

As a requirement in our educational technology II, we made a screen casting video of our preferred topic. When I fist know about the said use of technology, t popped into my mind that it would be a great tool to use. Though it has its disadvantages. However, screen casting video can provide learning to the class in both distance and traditional setting. It can be used as a tool for lecture or introducing a story to the pupils. Yet, to make a well done screen casting video, you should be in a silent environment because the voice sensor is very sensitive. It records all the noises around you. Another important requisite in making a screen casting video is the gadget and the internet to be able to access into the site. Moreover, it is a teacher centered instruction because the teacher cannot give interactive questions and activities to the learners.

A good educational screen casting video must have a good planning of the flow of the lesson to be imparted to the learners. It also requires a thoughtful and careful editing to re-sequence the lesson and remove unnecessary adlibs and parts that are not relevant to the lecture. With this, I learned another way of handling my class and make it more interesting with the use of technology.
